Unless you find a friendly taxi driver the best way to get to Broomhill Cottage is by car, bike or walk. You can cycle if you have a fairly sturdy mountain bike as the track leading up to the cottage is pretty rugged. You could get a bus from Brodick to Whiting Bay and then a short, steep 10 minute walk up Smiddy Brae [my 6 and 5 year old boys do it with only minimum moaning].
…or you can drive off the ferry. Take the first right to Whiting Bay, go through Lamlash until about 15 minutes into the journey you turn right up Smiddy Brae. Keep going up the rugged track for about 2-5 minutes [depending how brave you are] until you see Broomhill Cottage right ahead. Probably best not to turn up in the dark but if you do bring a good torch.
